2026 WPHS Class of ’69 Scholarship Awardee
Miranda Eastman was selected as the awardee by the Park High Scholarship Committee .
She received a $1,000 scholarship from the Class of ’69.
Below is a her autobiographical statement:
I have always had a passion for hands-on work and being a leader. I am in plenty of
leadership programs here at Park and out of Park, some of those being Link crew,
Ambassador, and Raymond 4H. I have also played softball for my whole life and
bowling for the 4 years I've been in high school. My junior year, I unfortunately faced an
ongoing injury in my shoulder that ended up being a tear in my labrum and ended up
with me having to have shoulder surgery and out of sports for more than 6 months and
3 months of rehab; this was a big setback for me and putting me and all the work I put
into my sports. As a freshman, I had the Varsity softball team, but my sophomore year, I
initially tore my shoulder and got put back and got put on JV.
I've also been working since freshman year, so on top of my two sports and all my extracurricular activities, I
have also been making a path for myself.
I plan on attending Fox Valley Technical College and majoring in Agribusiness Science and Technology and graduating with 3
degrees in the 2 years I will attend, including my associates degree, technical and my
welding degree. I hope to continue the passion in Agriculture and being hands-on in the
field and being a part of the little percent of us future farmers to help Agriculture.
We congratulate Miranda and wish her a successful future!
